Shri Kundan Lal Lives in Kameda Village Of Rudraprayag District. He has two sons, who do private Jobs outside to support
themselves.
Kundan Lal does cultivation To fulfill his daily needs.
Cultivation is his main source of Income . Due to his big family, he face many difficulties to manage his Family expenses. Due To covid 19 it affects very badly to kundan Lal family. His two sons became jobless and came home. As we all know that life goes like an ocean, it also occurs same with Kundanlal as he was doing very hard work to
reduce and maintain his financial trouble .But he did not i know that at age 71 years,his eyes become blurry day by day. Our two responsible CHW Sri Rakesh Kunwar and Sri Sourabh Rawat was doing a survey in Kameda,Rudraprayag.
There in Kamed,our CHW team meet with Kundanlal and His family was doing cultivation at that time.
Our CHW team first done the torch light exam and then the visual assessment of both eyes. Later they knew that he has developed cataract in both eyes. So they came to kundanlal and explain to him about the cataract he has.
If he cannot treat or operate the eyes one by one and ignore this situation then many serious complicated things will occur in his eyes.
Kundanlal became hopeless a little bit, but when we said him that it will be treated by wise doctor and the main thing is that the operation will be free of cost, then a smile of joy came in Kundanlal face. He told us that he will go for cataract operation in Dehradun.
So we called Kundanlal on 26/12/2023 for a comprehensive eye check up in Rudraprayag vision center.
On 26/12/2023 morning 8:30 am Kundanlal came in Rudraprayag vision center and a comprehensive eye examination done in slit lamp by our senior optom Sri Hanumant Singh Panwar. He decided that the operation of Right Eye will be done first of kundan lal.
Our center co coordinator Anup Panwar explained him about the free of cost surgery facility, free medicine facility and free transport facility and gave him the date of surgery of right eye on 29/12/2023.
On 28/12/2023 Kundanlal came to Rudraprayag vision center in the early morning for the destination Dehradun.
Our hospital bus came to our center at 8:30 am. The hospital bus picked him up and got ready for traveling for destination Dehradun.
In the meantime at 1:30 pm the bus stopped at Byasi for some food like lunch for the patient. The patient including Kundanlal had his lunch and when the lunch done the bus with patient departed from Byasi and reached Dehradun eye hospital Vivekanand Netralaya at 4:30 pm. After reaching hospital our attendant staff receive them including kundanlal and serve them water , tea and biscuit.
At first the blood collection investigation begin after that pre operative visual assessment and lens power measurement done, then doctor came for slit lamp microscope evaluation of kundanlal and select the Right eye needed to be operated.
Only one thing is remaining and that is if she is fit for OT or not. After half n hour our own Physician doctor came and the staff nurse did all the important vitals and then the Physician check all the report and by the grace of THAKUR JEE doctor gave him permission that he is fit for OT.
Later at 9:00 pm he had his dinner in the hospital. He knew that the next day will be a big day for him. He decided to sleep early.
Next day on 29/12/2023 at early morning kundanlal jee had his simple breakfast and necessary vitals were taken by our senior staff nurse again before OT.
He wore his proper operation dress and he was ready to go for OT.
At 10:30 am Kundanlal jee went to OT and at 11.30 he came from OT to male ward by the help of an attendant.
He was happy and a little bit tense but that’s normal. At 11:45 am he had his lunch . At evening postoperative visual assessment done by our senior optom in hospital and doctor saw the right eye if there is any postoperative findings to be noted.
Doctor told kundanlal jee that operation is successful and no need to worry about. That made kundanlal very happy.
Next day 30/12/2023 at early morning Kundanlal was preparing himself for going to his own place KAMEDA with a big smile on his face. He had his breakfast and sit on a hospital bus which was ready for his destination to KAMEDA.
At 7:30 am the hospital bus leave hospital and reached destination kameda 3:30pm. On 03/01/2024 Kundanlal jee came Rudraprayag vision center for his one week follow up as the doctor told him many times for follow up.
Our optom check his visual assessment and said that eye operation done very well but he have to use the eyedrops properly from time to time. No ignorance will be appreciated.
He was very happy and blessed us. He also told that the facility were very sufficient and very good and he is determined to do his left eye surgery of cataract from our hospital after 1 month.
